Sarawat Yai is a TV miniseries based on a 1989 popular Thai crime novel by Pol Gen Vasit Dejkunchorn and a remake of a 1994 miniseries of the same name. The 15-episodes 2019 updated version was produced  for Thai Ch. 7 by Dramagic for Pasang Yasorn Co., Ltd.

The controversial 1994 version caused many widespread protests and uproar all over the country by the Thai police and forced Ch. 7 to take Sarawat Yai off the air after broadcasted only half of the episodes.   Many people speculated that the 2019 version may also meet the same faith as its predecessor .

Sarawat Yai '19 premiered on Friday January 13, 2016 to a rating gold and soon became a must-see TV for audience of all ages all over Thailand every Friday- Sunday night as evident in the rating that kept on climbing each week.

Thanks to the realistic and easy to follow story line,  exceptional editing,  great acting and great directing together with a first class  production work by one of Thailand new and emerging production company like Pasang Yasorn  & Dramagic, Sarawat Yai '19 quickly became a hit and set new records across the board for prime time entertainment.  More importantly, it proved to everybody that social conscious plot can be a hit  and in demand, if done right.
